Building Overview

The Jill and John Freidenrich Center for Translational Research (FCTR) will provide a focal point for Clinical and Translational Research at Stanford by bringing together the NCI-supported Stanford Caner Center and the NCRR- supported Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Education (Spectrum) along with the Stanford Clinical and Translational Research Unit (CTRU).  FCTR will be constructed on a 1.4 acre lot at 800 Welch Road in Palo Alto, California.  The building is approximately 30,690 square feet and includes work space for researchers and meeting spaces to host interdisciplinary research teams, allowing the assembly of a diverse group of researchers with the common goal of catalyzing innovation for the purpose of improving human well being.  It will also provide inviting space for the conduct of clinical research studies, including a customized pediatric research suite with a friendly atmosphere for children and their families, as well as other specialized research areas.  The exterior spaces and landscaping will be developed to create meeting places, play areas for children and serve as a retreat, both visually and physically for faculty, staf, and visitors.
